LeBron's Manager Playing The Race Card. Move On People

Seriously, why is it that the race card seems to be played in almost everything? This is getting ridiculous. Now it sounds like Lebron's "team" or manager is playing it. I thought we were better than this. He left Cleveland for a reason, some of it money, most of it for a championship and "Team Trigger" and I personally don't think he likes being the center of attention anymore. That's why he signed on a team with 2 other major stars. It is what it is. Move on.

Previous posts about "Team LCD" posted here and here.

Yahoo! Sports: LeBron James’(notes) manager said he believes race played a factor in how the two-time reigning NBA MVP’s decision to join the Miami Heat was covered this summer.

Maverick Carter did not cite specifics when talking to CNN for a story that aired Wednesday night, other than saying race “definitely played a role in some of the stuff coming out of the media” during coverage of James’ free-agent saga.

It’s not the first time race has been a discussion point in the aftermath of what was called “The Decision,” an oft-criticized televised special that raised $3 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

James did not want to spend much time on the subject after Thursday’s Heat practice.

“I think people are looking too far into it,” James said. “But at the same time, sometimes it does play a part in it. I’ve said what I had to say, and I’ll continue to move on.”

After James made his announcement July 8, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert responded that same evening by releasing a fiery letter to fans of his team, saying James was being “narcissistic” and “cowardly.” That prompted Rev. Jesse Jackson to enter the fray, saying the Cavs owner saw James as a “runaway slave.”

An e-mail to Carter’s representative requesting further comment was not immediately answered.

“I don’t walk in LeBron’s shoes,” Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. “From our standpoint, we’ve moved on from the summer.”

Meg Whitman's Former Maid Says She Knew She Was Illegal, Hires Lawyer. Dirty Politics At It's Best

Well this sounds like a clear case of MONEY $$$$$. This former maid of Governor hopeful Meg Whitman says that she knew she was illegal when she employed her and has hired super lawyer Gloria Allred. Good thing for Meg Whitman, she has documents to back up her claims that this lady says she was a "legal" person and released copies of documents she signed under penalty of perjury and of a drivers license and SSN card to prove it. So this lady comes in illegally, gets hooked up docs to make it look like she is legal (and whoever did that needs to be put in jail cause that's illegal in its own right) and all because Whitman is in the running to be Governor, this lady is crying foul saying she was treated bad, etc. Again it's ll about money. Second, I can't stand Gloria Allred. This lady is a shark and loves to take high profile cases where it looks like the woman is the victim. Remember she represented the mistress of Scott Peterson. Oh, did I mention Allred is friends with Whitman's opponent Jerry Brown? Hmm...Classy.

Yahoo!/AP: A former housekeeper to California Republican gubernatorial nominee Meg Whitman surfaced on Wednesday to say that the former eBay executive knowingly employed her illegally and treated her poorly.

The Whitman campaign moved quickly to counter the allegations by Nicky Diaz, saying the housekeeper from Mexico lied about her immigration status when she was hired in 2000, providing a Social Security card and other documents that appeared to show she could legally work in the United States.

Whitman also said that in coming forward with the potentially explosive allegations 35 days before the November 2 election, Diaz was being "manipulated" by attorney Gloria Allred, who has been a friend and supporter of Democratic rival Jerry Brown.

The accusations by Diaz come one day after the first debate between Brown and Whitman in a tight campaign in which both sides have courted the Latino vote, and could prove damaging to the Silicon Valley billionaire if they gain traction.

Whitman has worked hard to make inroads with Latino voters, who tend to vote Democratic, in her race against Brown, the former governor and current state attorney general.

At a news conference at her Los Angeles office, Allred said that Whitman never asked Diaz if she was in the country legally when Diaz was hired in 2000 and failed to pay her for all of the hours she was hired to work.

Allred also said that Whitman disregarded letters from the Social Security Administration notifying her that there were discrepancies with the Social Security number Diaz provided.

A tearful Diaz said she came to Whitman in June 2009 for help getting legal status, but that Whitman angrily fired her instead.

The Whitman campaign released a U.S. Immigration and Naturalization employment eligibility verification form signed by Diaz when she was hired by Whitman in which she asserts under penalty of perjury that she is a lawful permanent resident.

The campaign also released copies of the Social Security Card and California driver's license supplied by Diaz at the time she was hired, and an employment questionnaire in which she checked a box saying that she could legally accept employment.

Dez Bryant Punked By Roy Williams. Dinner Tab - $54K & Change

This is another ridiculous story I saw this morning. $54K for a dinner tab? Granted it was basically the whole Cowboys team, but I've eaten out many times in my life, been to Pappa's and unless they ordered 10 of everything and the entire bar 5 times over per person, how the heck can you spend $1000 per person. I hope Dez Bryant didn't pull an Amar'e Stoudemire and actually tipped the server(s) very well. To me, this sounds like a dickhead move by Roy Williams (who is not a very good receiver to begin with) being butthurt because rookie didn't carry his pads as part of hazing in training camp. I would had paid for the people I invited out and left it as that.

On top of that, this is a reason why we are in debt as a country. Don't most credit cards come with a limit? Even sports players need to learn to live within their means. Their contracts are not 100% guaranteed like it is in the NBA and the average salary is around $500K and lifespan of a player is 3 1/2 years. Not everyone makes millions in the NFL. Must be nice to not worry about a bill that big. Put a limit on that card.

Yahoo! Sports: Back in July, there was a big to-do about Cowboys rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant(notes) refusing to carry pads for fellow wide receiver Roy Williams. It's tradition in the NFL that rookies perform menial chores for veteran teammates, so Bryant's refusal drew some attention and criticism.

The mini-controversy blew over quickly. Bryant apologized, Williams accepted and everyone moved on. Williams did mention, though, that Bryant would have to pick up a dinner tab, and at the instant that Bryant refused the pad-carrying, Williams suddenly got a little hungrier and a little thirstier.

After the Cowboys beat the Texans, it was finally time for that dinner. The end result? Bryant probably wishes he'd have carried those pads. From Calvin Watkins at ESPN:

Monday night at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse, Bryant took the offensive players out, then Williams invited the defensive players and when the night was over the bill came: $54,896.

"They got the young fella," said Bryant's adviser David Wells. "What could he say? He had to pay it unless he wanted to wash dishes for a month."

Players ordered basically everything on the menu and even took home bottles of wine.

Well played, Roy Williams. Not only was it a nice touch to invite the defense, but to also wait until everyone was in a celebratory and festive mood? That's a veteran move.

Even when you factor in the number of players who attended, it still comes out to a ridiculous amount of money spent on food and drink for each person. Active game-day rosters include 45 people. Figure that some people probably skipped the festivities, and some coaches and other personnel might have been there, and we'll guess it was around 50 people. That's still well over $1,000 per person.

UC Berkley To Cut Sports Programs

This is ridiculous. Why is it that Arts, Music and Sports are always the ones to get cut first when a public school or an institution like UC Berkley is low or losing money? I guess all the public funding, grants, donations, kick-backs from football, and the ridiculous yearly rise in fees have done any good. Maybe if it wasn't for the unions and paying the hippy liberal professors that work there all that freaking money for salaries, they could save these sports. Baseball, Gymnastics, Lacrosse will be gone and Rugby will become a "club sport". All this to save a measly $4 million? There are other ways to save that there, come on.

Yahoo! Sports: The University of California-Berkeley’s money issues took their toll on the baseball program Tuesday as coach Dave Esquer was told his program would be cut.

The school has exceeded its athletic department budget by $10-13 million in recent years and the belt-tightening begins next fall with the elimination of baseball and other sports.

Those program cuts were among recommendations from a committee assembled by school chancellor Robert Birgeneau.

“Clearly, this is a painful outcome after months of deliberation, analysis and the examination of every viable alternative,” Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour said.

In addition to baseball, the school will eliminate men’s and women’s gymnastics and women’s lacrosse. The defending champion men’s rugby program will remain but no longer be fully funded.

The cuts will save $4 million in 2011-12, according to the university.

The news is doubly disappointing for the Bears’ baseball team considering what the future seemed to hold. Cal reached the NCAA postseason in 2010 with a 29-25 record. It appeared primed for an excellent 2011 campaign, entering fall workouts with expectations of reaching the College World Series.

“It has an affect on all the of Pac-10. You are talking about a program that started playing baseball in the 1890s. That’s over 100 years of tradition.” Stanford coach Mark Marquess said. “Obviously it affects Stanford, because it’s our traditional rival and obviously we are big rivals but we have a lot of good friends there. It’s hard to believe.”

NCAA transfer restrictions will not apply to Cal’s players, opening the door for them to transfer to another Division I institution without having to sit out a year.

The program, which began in 1892, has won two national titles and made five trips to the CWS. It will disappear after the ’11 season unless something changes.

Terrorist Plot Uncovered In Europe - Always Stay Vigilant

As I posted (and it was cross posted on Saberpoint) and opinionated about the other day, about being vigilant in the USA and Europe (post here), it looks as if a massive terror plot against the British and French has been uncovered. When you're good at posting things others won't or haven't, you are awesome. And you can't spell "awesome" without "me". Read below.

Yahoo!/AP: Intelligence officials have intercepted a credible terror plot against Britain and France, raising security fears at the Eiffel Tower on Tuesday, but failing to raise the overall threat level in either country.

The Eiffel Tower was briefly evacuated Tuesday evening after officials received a bomb threat called in from a telephone booth. It was the second such alert at the monument in two weeks.

The warning came as French officials were put on alert for possible terror attacks. British officials, too, have been aware of a possible attack but the terror threat warning has not changed from "severe."

"There have been a succession of terror operations we've been dealing with over recent weeks but one to two that have preoccupied us," said one British government official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of his work. "Still, it hasn't been to the degree that we have raised the threat level."

Another British official, who spoke on the same terms, would not confirm the plot was "al-Qaida inspired" but said there was an "Islamist connection" and that the plots were in an early stage. No other details were given.

Since the Sept. 11 terror attacks in the United States nine years ago, the terror group has moved outside of Afghanistan and Pakistan to other countries such as Somalia and Yemen.

German officials denied Tuesday they had intercepted threats, saying there had been no change to their threat level.

In Washington, a Western counterterrorism official said some missile strikes in a recent surge of attacks by unmanned U.S. drones in Pakistan were aimed at disrupting suspected terrorist plots aimed at Europe.

It wasn't known whether the drone attacks were related specifically to the plot that European authorities said they had intercepted.

The counterterrorism official said the targeted strikes were aimed at al-Qaida and other militant groups arrayed in Pakistan's tribal region near the Afghanistan border. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the details of the terror plot remain sensitive.

The Obama administration has intensified the use of drone-fired missiles in Pakistan's border area but this month there have been at least 21 attacks, more than double the highest number fired in any other single month.

A suspected U.S. missile strike on Tuesday killed four militants in northwest Pakistan's South Waziristan region, just across the border from Afghanistan, intelligence officials said. There was no word on the identities of those killed in the attack.

The counterterrorism official, who is familiar with the drone strikes and the details of the Europe terror plots, said Tuesday that the missile strikes in Pakistan are "a product of precise intelligence and precise weapons. We've been hitting targets that pose a threat to our troops in Afghanistan and terrorists plotting attacks in South Asia and beyond."

In Paris, French police on Tuesday closed off the surroundings of the Eiffel Tower, France's most visited monument. Officers pulled red-and-white police tape across a bridge leading over the Seine River to the monument. Officers stood guard.

Bomb experts combed through the 324-meter (1,063-foot) tower and found nothing unusual, the Paris police headquarters said. Tourists were let back inside about two hours after the structure was emptied.

Jean Dupeu, a 74-year-old Paris retiree, had planned to go to dinner in the tower but found himself looking for another restaurant.

"It's surely a bad joke," he said of the threat, adding, "Now is not a good time."

National Police Chief Frederic Pechenard said last week that authorities suspect al-Qaida's North African branch of plotting a bomb attack on a crowded location in France. His warning came after al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, or AQIM, claimed responsibility for the Sept. 16 abduction of five French nationals and two Africans in northern Niger.

The French parliament voted this month to ban burqa-style Islamic veils in France, a subject that has prompted warnings by AQIM. Counterterrorism officials say that is just one of several factors contributing to the heightened threat.

At the Eiffel Tower, an anonymous caller called in a warning to firefighters, the Paris police headquarters said. The company that runs the monument asked police to evacuate it.

Police responded to a similar false alert at the tower on Sept. 14, also following a phone threat. On Monday, the bustling Saint Lazare train station in Paris was briefly evacuated and searched.

As soon as the latest bomb alert ended, huge lines of eager tourists immediately formed under the tower.

Mike Yore, 43, of Orlando, Florida, was among those waiting in line at the 121-year-old iron monument.

"There's no bomb that can blow this thing up," he said.

Company That Benefited Most From The Moratorium And George Soros Invested Millions Into, "Petrobras" Becomes 3rd Largest Oil Company In The World

This is a bit troubling. This company only made $15 billion last year and is now primed to make $70 billion. That is quite a jump for a foreign company. What else is troubling is that this company benefited from the 6 month moratorium that President Obama passed after the gulf oil spill this summer. And don't forget that Obama's good buddy billionaire philanthropist and investor George Soros also invested hundreds of millions into this company to benefit from our disaster. This is a guy who wants to bring down capitalism and wants Global Governance. Look it up. There's an article here from the site "The Future Of Capitalism" related to this from earlier in the year.

Yahoo!/AP: Brazil's state-run Petrobras became the world's third-biggest oil firm by market capitalization Monday as it completed a record share issue expected to bring in around 70 billion dollars.

After selling the stock on the New York stock exchange from last Friday, in the form of American Depository Receipts, the company began also selling the shares Monday on the Sao Paulo stock exchange.

Those shares rose 1.93 percent to 30.23 reals by the end of trading -- higher than the 29.65 reals the new shares were priced at for trading, showing strong demand.

The offering has made Petrobras the third largest oil company in the world after US-based ExxonMobil and PetroChina.

I kind of slacked again this week with posts and such, but I did get a lot of work done at my Mom's house fixing things and painting things so that had to be done. But enjoy the funnies below.

New Muslim Terror Attacks Expected In Europe And The USA - Stay Vigilant

Via Saberpoint. This site always has cool stuff and lots of interesting stories on the terrors of Islam. Read below.

Intelligence officials are saying that there is a heightened chance of another significant terrorist attack here in the United States. The ABC report avoids the use of the word "Muslim" but it is clear that Muslim terrorists are the ones now feared. They cite recent attempted terrorist attacks here.

The attacks cited included:

The disruption of a plot to bomb the New York City subway by Najibullah Zazi, a naturalized U.S. citizen, last September.

The attack at Ft Hood Texas by gunman Army Maj. Nidal Hassan which resulted in 13 people killed and over 30 wounded.

The attempted Christmas Day bombing of Northwest Airlines flight 253 by alleged al Qaeda operative Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab.

The averted May 1 bombing in Times Square by Faisal Shahzad.

ABC News

Europe is now on high alert for a threatened Muslim attack on transportation hubs. ADN Kronos has the story:

The commander of French police and security services Frederic Pechenard said on radio Wednesday they had "serious evidence coming from reliable intelligence sources telling us there is a risk of a major attack."

Al-Qaida in North Africa was targeting France in particular, he said.

The threat included "the assassination of an important figure or an attempted mass casualty attack on a crowded public area like a metro train or department store," Pechenard said.

One of the main prospective targets for the suicide bombings is reportedly the Gare du Nord station in Paris, where trains depart for London and cities in Italy, Belgium and Switzerland.

Read it all here on adnkronos.

The Islamic threat has replaced the old Communism threat and appears even more dangerous. After all, we didn't allow millions of Communists to immigrate and conduct sedition.

Ah, the wonders of multiculturalism! Our diversity is our most important strength!

Islam is the enemy. Do we have the will to admit this truth and do something to stop the threat? Personally, I doubt it. Western civilization is in the full course of committing suicide.

The old paradigms do not work. If we are to survive Islam, more effective and even radically new strategies will have to be implemented. Gone is the notion of America "the melting pot," where any and all cultures may immigrate and seamlessly blend. We need to rid ourselves of the notion that, once here, a hostile alien culture cannot be removed.
Another classic example of why I have labeled the Democrats, "The Party Of Hate". It's because of stupid remarks like this. Watch the video and then read the article after it. Her Representative doesn't make things any better with their comment either.

Via Red State

That was like a double whammy race card.

“Vote for me because I am Hispanic and I support immigration. P.S. My opponent is from Vietnam and he’s coming to take our jobs.”

Her opponent? Van Tran. As luck would have it, Tran is trying to reach a fund raising goal of $8k by Sept 30th. [hint hint]

For more information on this race check out Neil’s posts.

I must give Rep. Sanchez credit though, I don’t think anyone has actually placed the race card in the sharks mouth prior to jumping it. Well done.

UPDATE (Dan McLaughlin): According to TPM, Sanchez’s rep tries to make it all better by saying that she doesn’t hate all Vietnamese people, just the ones supporting Van Tran:

Sanchez’s campaign said that she “was referencing those in the Vietnamese community who are supporting her opponent.”

America Adopting The One Child Policy?

Check out this story from The Weekly Standard. It is a very long article with a ton of facts talking about fertility rates around the world are dropping in industrialized countries, thanks to some of them like China adopting the "one child policy" that here is America, we are adopting voluntarily. In (my opinion)since people in this country seem to having kids later in life, partying and seem to be enjoying the "Generation Me" mentality.

By adopting this policy, the average age of the country will rise, the birth rate will lower, the population as a whole will drop significantly in the long term, and the only reason why America's population has been holding pretty steady and rising slightly every year is because of the influx of immigrates. The love having babies.

This is a quote from the article:
Social changes have affected the fertility rate, too. Some of these changes are small and simple—like the evolution of car-seat laws, which make it difficult to transport more than two children. Some—like the rise of the educated woman—are massively complex...

One of the best predictors of fertility is education: The more educated a woman is, the fewer children she will have. The total fertility rate for American women without a high school diploma is 2.45. With each subsequent level of educational attainment, fertility falls—it drops to 1.6 for women with a graduate degree. One of the drivers of our fertility decline was the making of college de rigueur for middle-class women.

But like I said, read the whole article, it's very interesting.

Iran's President Is Mad At America For "Not Shaking His Hand". Watch The Clip From The Daily Show

Watch the whole clip, but especially at the 3:30 mark. The Iranian President is saying that relations between Iran and America are not his fault. He's mad at us because we "didn't shake his hand". Like Jon Stewart says in the clip (and my own opinion), here's a guy who hates Israel, hates America, says we are behind 9/11, the Holocaust wasn't real, going after nuclear technology and yet, he's mad because we didn't shake his hand? What an idiot. Watch the full clip below.

For some reason I can't get the video to post so here's the link to the video on The Daily show's website

Colleges And Universities Love Liberal Candidates And Their Campaign Contributions To Them Show It

For as much as I have been into politics, I never really knew that colleges and universities donated so much money to idiotic candidates. and what a shocker, the more schools have gotten liberal, the more they donate and favor liberal candidates!

Via The Blaze

Politico has investigated FEC filings for Democrats to prove what we all already suspected knew: college campuses go gaga for Democrats:

An analysis of Federal Election Commission data conducted by the Center for Responsive Politics shows that Democrats have raked in more than $400,000 just from employees of the University of California’s network of colleges — 86 percent of all donations from UC employees.

Harvard employees ranked second in donations to Democrats, giving $327,028 to the party — 77 percent of total donations from employees of the university. …

Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) has been the top recipient of academic donations, collecting more than $175,000 — likely from those active University of California donors.

The other politicos receiving the largest donations from colleges and universities are Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. ($170,000), Gov. Charlie Crist, I-Fla. ($165,000) and Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev. ($144,000).

New Jobless Claims Rise "Unexpectedly"

It's a broken record.

The tally of newly laid-off workers requesting unemployment benefits rose last week for the first time in five weeks as the job market remains sluggish.

Initial claims for jobless aid rose by 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 465,000, the Labor Department said Thursday. Many economists had expected a flat reading or small drop.

The rise suggests that jobs remain scarce and some companies are still cutting workers amid sluggish economic growth. Initial claims have fallen from a recent spike above a half-million last month. But they have been stuck above 450,000 for most of the year.

General Motors Making Political Donations. Don't WE, The American Taxpayer Own Them?

I thought the American taxpayer, since we bailed them out with our money and I lost my job soon there after all these damn bailouts were done, own General Motors and other companies? Shouldn't we have a say in what they do and who they give money to? I would only think that would be wise, but I guess not. So a company that I helped bailout because it was "too big to fail" like other companies were, is now taking our hard earned money and making political contributions?? Oh and guess what? Most of the money have donated, have gone to Democratic candidates! Yeah! Let's keep the idiots who passed these bills elected! (sarcasm)

The Wall Street Journal: General Motors Co. has begun to once again contribute to political campaigns, lifting a self-imposed ban on political spending put in place during the auto maker's U.S.-financed bankruptcy restructuring last year.

The Detroit company gave $90,500 to candidates running in the current election cycle, Federal Election Commission records show.

The beneficiaries include Midwestern lawmakers, mostly Democrats, who have traditionally supported the industry's legislative agenda on Capitol Hill, including Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), Sen. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) and Rep. John Dingell (D., Mich.).

The list also includes Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor, the House Republican Whip, who would likely assume a top leadership post if Republicans win control of the House in November.

It isn't unusual for big companies like GM to spend on political campaigns, but complicating GM's situation is that the company is majority-owned by the U.S. government. GM is planning to return to the public stock markets later this year, allowing the U.S. to begin to sell off its roughly 61% stake in the company.

GM spokesman Greg Martin said the company stopped making political contributions in spring 2009 to focus on its taxpayer-financed bankruptcy reorganization.

"As we've emerged as a new company, we're not going to sit on the sidelines as our competitors and other industries who have PACs are participating in the political process," Mr. Martin said. He called GM's political action committee is "an effective means for our employees to pool their resources and have their collective voice heard."

Mr. Martin added that the company has supported members of both parties who "approach issues thoughtfully" and "support a strong auto industry."

"I Want Your Money" Movie Set To Release October 15th

This movie comes out right before the mid-term elections and is very detailed on the spending that happens in Washington. It is titled "I want your money". Guess who does? Yup, the big fat cats in Washington, mainly the Democrats.

Liberal Media Fabricating Story Against GOP's Boehner Saying He Is Having An Affair. Aren't The Elections Right Around The Corner? Hmmm...

Well it looks like the Democratic Smear Machine is back at work still trying to declare war on Fox News and Rep. John Boehner. The President tried to smear Boehner himself recently to no avail, but that's not going to stop the liberal media, mainly The Daily Kos and this time they are coming up with the story trying to say that Rep. Boehner is having an affair with a lobbyist which both have denied and everyone is outraged as they should be. Since the Democrats are losing everything around them, the American public is fed up with them, the only thing they can do is try and ruin others names. Sounds like Pelosi is getting her knickers in bunch since Boehner could take her seat when Republicans take back majority. How convenient with an election just about 6 weeks away...

NY Post: The heat is on Republican leader John Boehner.

Liberal media outlets are trying to smear the highest-ranking Republican in the House just weeks before the midterm elections with a deal-breaking scandal before he has a chance to take the speaker's chair from Nancy Pelosi.

A blogger from liberal Web site The Daily Kos pierced through Boehner's security detail at yesterday's unveiling of his leadership policy "Pledge to America" to ask if he was sleeping with a lobbyist from the Printing Industries of America.

The congressman ignored the pesky blogger with a flip camera and kept moving to his fleet of black Suburbans.

The lobbyist who was named in the confrontation and then was contacted by he Daily Kos blogger Lisbeth Lyons denied the accusations. "As you can imagine, I was stunned by such a question," Lyons said. "I found it to be highly insulting, particularly as a female political professional, as well as unfounded. Beyond that, I have no further comment on the matter."

Insiders on Capitol Hill are buzzing about an upcoming New York Times exposé that will detail an alleged Boehner affair. Sources say the Times is looking for the right time to drop the story in October to sway the election, similar to how the Times reported during the 2008 presidential campaign on an alleged John McCain affair that supposedly had taken place many years before and that was flatly denied by the woman in question.

"Catching Boehner with a mistress is the only way to destroy him politically before the election," a source said.

A rep for Boehner's office said, "This is bull[bleep]. The American people oppose Washington Democrats' job killing, so their desperate liberal allies are resorting to outright lies. It's low, and it's dirty."

Gov. Chris Christie Keeps Heckler In Check While Campaigning For Meg Whitman In California

I recently have chosen to vote for Meg Whitman when it comes time for the November elections. Partly because she is a strong candidate, but mainly, I don't want to see Jerry Brown in office. He sucked as Governor in the 70's, horrible as mayor of Oakland, and sucks as Attorney General. The only reason why he keeps getting elected is because California so far left, it's unbelievable. Bill Clinton did a great job of exposing Brown in the 90's when he tried to get the Democratic nod against him. But I saw this story and decided to post it. Gov. Chris Christie is one tough guy. Everytime I see something on this guy in a video or something, he's laying the smack down. Here is a link to the site The Blaze on his 12 greatest videos so far to see what I was talking about.

Quote from the video:

"You want to yell? Yell at me, but don't give her a hard time," Christie said into his microphone. But Christie didn't stop there: "It's people who raise their voices and yell and scream like you that are dividing this country," he said. "We're here to bring this country together, not divide it." The audience roared with cheers and applause. The heckler stands there like a tool.

Colin Powell And Hiring Illegals - Update 2

I received a nice comment the other day from someone who enjoyed my last posts on the topic of Colin Powell saying he hired illegals to work on his then later retracted and "clarified" his comments. I don't get a whole lot of comments on my blog, maybe it's because I'm too forward sometimes on my opinions before I post the story - who knows, but because the person who left the comment was nice in their statement and sent me a link to a video that they recommended, I was very pleased with what I saw and it's only right that I should post that video. It is very detailed, and has a multiview/source analysis (all their stories have that) to it and I think that people will enjoy it. It comes from the site Newsy.com. Hope you enjoy it.

Colin Powell Admits To Hiring Illegals - Now Says He Doesn't - UPDATE

As I posted earlier today and others have posted on their blogs, Colin Powell is now saying he DOES NOT hire illegals to do his house repairs. I'd have more respect for politicians if they stuck by their words instead of everytime they receive backlash, they rebuff their comments or "clarify" them. If you hire them, fine, just don't act like you didn't or you ment to talk about a different policy. What's said is said. Geez.

Via Yahoo!: Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has clarified his recent remarks on immigration policy, saying he does not hire illegal immigrants to do repairs on his home. The onetime secretary of state for George W. Bush waded into one of the most contentious culture-war issues of 2010 during an appearance Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press" -- the latest in a series of dissensions from conservative orthodoxy that have prompted some of his former GOP colleagues to question his party allegiance.

"I don't hire illegal immigrants," Powell said in a statement Monday. "On 'Meet the Press' yesterday, I referred to illegal immigrants working around my house. I was referring to the many service contractors who work in my neighborhood, using mostly immigrant workers, who do good work. Some may well be 'illegal.' There are 11 million illegal immigrants in this country and most are working somewhere in our economy."

The AP reported yesterday that Powell said "illegal immigrants do essential work in the U.S. and that he has firsthand knowledge of that—because they fix his house." The story became Yahoo News' most shared item last night.

Former President Clinton Offers Advise, Quit Name Calling And Tell The Facts

Though I was not a real fan of Clinton during his Presidency, especially the second term, I do like him on one thing - he worked with a GOP controlled Congress and got things done. Think this President would learn in November when the GOP and possible the Tea Party and their votes take back Congress this year? Probably not, but he should take this advise from the former President. Read below...

Via Yahoo!: In response to the success of conservative Republicans in Tuesday's primaries, he urged the President to get "out on there on the stump" and sell his own plan. "He's got a story to tell. Talk about the stakes, not name call but tell the facts. The Republicans have been very candid and I give them this, with what they intend to do if they get into Congress," he said.

1 Out Of 7 Americans Part Of The Economic Collapse

This is a great piece with a lot of links and evidence to back this up from The Economic Collapse. Please read it.

For most Americans, the economic collapse is something that is happening to someone else. Most of us have become so isolated from each other and so self-involved that unless something is directly affecting us or a close family member than we really don't feel it. But even though most of us enjoy a much closer relationship with our television sets than we do with our neighbors at this point, it is quickly becoming undeniable that a fundamental shift is taking place in society. Perhaps you noticed it when two or three foreclosure signs went up on your street. Or perhaps it got your attention when that nice fellow down the street lost his job, and he and his family seemingly just disappeared from the neighborhood one day. The Census Bureau made front page headlines all over the nation this week when they announced that one out of every seven Americans was living in poverty in 2009. Every single day more Americans are getting sucked out of the middle class and into soul-crushing poverty.

Unfortunately, most Americans don't really care because it has not affected them yet.

But this year, millions more Americans will discover that the music has stopped playing and they are left without a seat at the table.

Meanwhile, neither political party has a workable solution. They just like to point fingers and blame each other.

The Democrats blame Bush for all the poverty and advocate expanding programs for the poor. Not that there is anything wrong with a safety net. But the "safety net" was never meant to hold 50 million people on Medicaid and 40 million people on food stamps. The number of Americans on food stamps has more than doubled since 2007. So do we just double it again as things get even worse?

The truth is that welfare programs are only short-term solutions. Unfortunately, the Democrats do not understand this. What Americans really need are good jobs.

The Republicans are so boneheaded that they don't even like to talk about poverty because they think it is a "liberal issue". Some conservative commentators have even been so brutally cold as to mock the "99ers" (those who have been unemployed so long that even their extended federal benefits have run out).

Instead of showing some compassion and being the party of the American worker (as they should be), the Republicans are often very uncompassionate and they allow the Democrats to be "the party of the poor" by default.

Both political parties need a big wakeup call. There is a tsunami of poverty sweeping the United States, and somebody better wake up and do something about it. More handouts will help people get by in the short-term, but there is no way that the federal government can financially support tens of millions more poor Americans.

How long is it going to be before the "safety net" simply collapses under the weight of all this poverty?

The path we are on is not sustainable.

The economy is falling apart, and somebody better wake up and do something before even more Americans find themselves drowning in poverty.

The following are 20 signs that the economic collapse has already begun for one out of every seven Americans.....

#1 The Census Bureau says that 43.6 million Americans are now living in poverty and according to them that is the highest number of poor Americans in 51 years of record-keeping.

#2 In the year 2000, 11.3 percent of Americans were living in poverty. In 2008, 13.2 percent of Americans were living in poverty. In 2009, 14.3 percent of Americans were living in poverty. Needless to say the trend is moving in the wrong direction.

#3 In 2009 alone, approximately 4 million more Americans joined the ranks of the poor.

#4 According to the Associated Press, experts believe that 2009 saw the largest single year increase in the U.S. poverty rate since the U.S. government began calculating poverty figures back in 1959.

#5 The U.S. poverty rate is now the third worst among the developed nations tracked by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.

#6 Today the United States has approximately 4 million fewer wage earners than it did in 2007.

#7 Nearly 10 million Americans now receive unemployment insurance, which is almost four times as many as were receiving it in 2007.

#8 U.S. banks repossessed 25 percent more homes in August 2010 than they did in August 2009.

#9 One out of every seven mortgages in the United States was either delinquent or in foreclosure during the first quarter of 2010.

#10 There are now 50.7 million Americans who do not have health insurance. One trip to the emergency room would be all it would take to bankrupt a significant percentage of them.

#11 More than 50 million Americans are now on Medicaid, the U.S. government health care program designed principally to help the poor.

#12 There are now over 41 million Americans on food stamps.

#13 The number of Americans enrolled in the food stamp program increased a whopping 55 percent from December 2007 to June 2010.

#14 One out of every six Americans is now being served by at least one government anti-poverty program.

#15 California's poverty rate soared to 15.3 percent in 2009, which was the highest in 11 years.

#16 According to an analysis by Isabel Sawhill and Emily Monea of the Brookings Institution, 10 million more Americans (including 6 million more children) will slip into poverty over the next decade.

#17 According to a recently released Federal Reserve report, Americans experienced a $1.5 trillion loss in combined household net worth in the second quarter of 2010.

#18 Manufacturing employment in the U.S. computer industry is actually lower in 2010 than it was in 1975.

#19 Median U.S. household income is down 5 percent from its peak of more than $52,000 in 1999.

#20 A study recently released by the Center for Retirement Research at Boston College University found that Americans are $6.6 trillion short of what they need for retirement.

How anyone can look at those numbers and think that things are about to "get better" absolutely boggles the mind.

It is time to wake up.

Things are not going to get better.

Things are only going to get worse.

The United States is rapidly becoming a nation where poverty is absolutely rampant.

As poverty continues to spread, crime will not be far behind.

Meanwhile, the international community wants to impose a global tax on us so that they can "redistribute" even more of our wealth around the world.

The following was just reported by CNSNews.com....

A group of 60 nations will meet next week at the United Nations to push for a tax on foreign currency transactions as a way to generate revenue to meet global poverty-reduction goals, including “climate change” mitigation.

Well isn't that great? As American descends into poverty, the rest of the world is pushing for a global tax that will drain us of wealth even more.

It is just a tax on foreign currency transactions, but history has taught us that once taxers get their foot in the door they always go for more eventually.

Sadly, it is not just the United Nations that is discussing a global tax. In fact, the IMF and the World Health Organization have both been very open about the fact that they want to impose global taxes of their own.

Not that we aren't taxed enough already. We already pay dozens of different kinds of taxes each year, and 2011 is already being dubbed as "the year of the tax increase".

But most Americans don't have any more to give. Most Americans can barely make it from month to month. More Americans than ever are slipping into poverty.

What a mess we have on our hands.

Do any of you have any suggestions for how we should go about fixing all of this?

Liberal Media Trying To Rewrite History Again - Rehabing Carter's Presidency, Saying It Was Better Than Reagan's

Once again, the liberal media is trying to rewrite history. Just because you passed a crap load of policies during you term doesn't make you a great President. Look at what Obama is doing. Carter had little to do with bringing home the hostages from Iran. That was all Reagan and his transition team that did that. Iran was intimidated by Reagan. Reagan had said if Iran still held the hostages when he became President, we would immediately go to war. Carter's policies helped bring in radical Islam in Iran.

He seems to be steaming over his landslide defeat 30 years later. We had massive unemployment, inflation and oil shortages under Carter. Obviously all those policies he passed helped him. It made things worse. Plus, Clinton and GW can't even stand him, there's a reason for that.

And he accused Reagan of stoking racism in this country when running against him. Don't forget, early in Carter's career he ran a very racist campaign for governor of Georgia, and openly accepted the endorsement of Lester Maddox. That's the very tolerant Democrat who, as a restaurateur, passed out axe handles to his customers to use against black people who dared to try and be served.

I do give him props on his humanitarian efforts that netted him a Nobel Prize (there are a few places that legitimately need help), but trying to be good now doesn't erase what you sucked at 30 years ago.

Via Newsbusters: CBS broke into summer re-runs of 60 Minutes to let Lesley Stahl promote Jimmy Carter’s new book, White House Diary, which he maintained delivers “absolute unadulterated frankness” and which she described as an “often harsh critique” of his presidential term. She, however, was far from harsh toward him.

Noting an “image of ‘a failed President’ haunts the Carters,” Stahl trumpeted: “Carter argues that despite the image of failure, he actually had a long list of successes, starting with bringing all the hostages home alive,” as if that wasn’t because of Ronald Reagan’s inauguration. Stahl proceeded to tout as a success his installation of “solar panels on the roof of the White House.”

Absolving Carter of responsibility, Stahl contended he “was cursed by a dismal economy, poor relations with Congress, and a nightmarish standoff over 52 Americans held hostage by Iran.” Yet, “when all is said and done, and many will be surprised to hear this,” Stahl insisted, “Jimmy Carter got more of his programs passed than Reagan and Nixon, Ford, Bush 1, Clinton or Bush 2.” She empathized with his treatment from an unappreciative public: “And yet, as I say, there's the sense that you were a failed President.”

Security Experts Agree - Sharia Law Is A Danger To USA

Absolutely agree. And this isn't "islamaphobia", it's a truthful fact. By the way, as I have posted a few times on here, don't believe me, check out the site "Religion of Peace". See how "cool" Islam is.

Via Washington Times: A panel of national security experts who worked under Republican and Democratic presidents is urging the Obama administration to abandon its stance that Islam is not linked to terrorism, arguing that radical Muslims are using Islamic law to subvert the United States.

The study group, sponsored by the conservative-oriented Center for Security Policy, says in its report that proponents of advancing Islamic law mark the "crucial fault line" in Islam's internal divisions separating truly moderate Muslims, like the late Indonesian President Abdurrahman Wahid, from the large portion of the world's 1 billion Muslims who advocate imposing what they call Shariah law throughout the world.

According to the report, proponents of Shariah are "Muslim supremacists" waging "civilization jihad" along with the Islamist terrorists engaged in violent jihad, like al Qaeda.

Running Out Of People To Blame, Sights Now Turned On The Tea Party

Well since the "rich", "racist" and "blame Bush" tactics haven't worked so far, the White House, The President and Democrats alike are now setting their sites on the Tea Party. Why? Because it's an effort to restore American values and the basic principals or politics and this country and it doesn't fit into their radical and socialistic ideas (my opinion).

This is good link as well from Pajamas Media

Original post below on Reaganite Republican

NY Times: President Obama’s political advisers, looking for ways to help Democrats and alter the course of the midterm elections in the final weeks, are considering a range of ideas, including national advertisements, to cast the Republican Party as all but taken over by Tea Party extremists, people involved in the discussion said.

White House and Congressional Democratic strategists are trying to energize dispirited Democratic voters over the coming six weeks, in hopes of limiting the party’s losses and keeping control of the House and Senate. The strategists see openings to exploit after a string of Tea Party successes split Republicans in a number of states, culminating last week with developments that scrambled Senate races in Delaware and Alaska.

“We need to get out the message that it’s now really dangerous to re-empower the Republican Party,” said one Democratic strategist who has spoken with White House advisers but requested anonymity to discuss private strategy talks.

Democrats are divided. The party’s House and Senate campaign committees are resistant, not wanting to do anything that smacks of nationalizing the midterm elections when high unemployment and the drop in Mr. Obama’s popularity have made the climate so hostile to Democrats. Endangered Congressional candidates want any available money to go to their localized campaigns.

ALSO in a relating article

UK Telegraph: This is the clearest sign yet that the Obama White House fears the tremendous energy the Tea Party movement has brought to this November’s Congressional race. What the Obama administration once dismissed as an inconsequential, rag tag organization has evolved into a full scale political revolution that threatens to storm Capitol Hill six weeks from now. But if it thinks it can quell the rebellion by painting the Tea Party as a bunch of “extremists” it is sadly mistaken.

Poll after poll shows that the Tea Party’s anger over the rise of Big Government, the mounting budget deficit, excessive government spending, and spiraling entitlement programs are now shared by a clear majority of the American people. If the Obama team believes it will make political capital out of slandering the views of the Tea Party it is hugely misreading the general mood of the country. The grassroots organization's stunning success is symbolic of a deep-seated rejection across the United States of a “transformational” president who is making America poorer, weaker, more indebted and significantly less free.

The White House’s planned assault is yet another example of an elitist presidency that is spectacularly out of touch with the American electorate, and increasingly digging its own political grave. Unfortunately for President Obama, it is his own policies, rather than the ideals of the Tea Party, which the American public increasingly view as extreme.

NBC News President Crying And Saying Fox Is Branding Them As "Liberals". Have You Seen Their Lineup?

I find this article funny because MSNBC is crying foul and again blaming Fox News, but it's their own fault. Their whole network is lined with left winged nut jobs, Maddow and Olbermann talk to Americans like were freaking stupid, especially in their commentaries, and Matthews seems to get more bent out of shape everyday. CNN is even beating out MSNBC. Now that's pathetic. I really like Fox Executive Vice President Brian Lewis' response and says that "NBC, and especially MSNBC, is not even a blip on our radar screen. We don't care what they do. Capus must be confusing us with CNN" as a close competitor. (Fox host Bill O'Reilly, for his part, regularly describes NBC as a left-wing network, at one point slamming "Capus and his character assassins.") Everytime I turn on MSNBC, heck even The Colbert Report and The Daily Show, all they ever do is slam Fox and especially Glenn Beck. They can't even report on normal things.

Washington Post media reporter Howard Kurtz wrote this howler today in a story on how MSNBC's leftishness rubs off on the mothership: "No one is suggesting Brian Williams's newscast had suddenly become biased."

That's right. Brian's show has been biased for a long time. But there's more comedy in how NBC News chief Steve Capus tries to suggest it's unfair to see NBC as liberal because of the ever-increasing left-wing shrillness quotient of MSNBC in prime time:

Capus concedes that MSNBC's lefty lineup at night--Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and, as of next week, Lawrence O'Donnell--raises questions about NBC. But cable is "narrowcasting," he says, and "I think the audience gets it, pure and simple."

Fox News, he adds, is "trying to brand us" as a liberal broadcast network because of MSNBC. "It's a classic political tactic -- they don't like Keith Olbermann, they're going to come after us. It's annoying.

Colin Powell Admits To Hiring Illegals

In a recent interview with NBC,Powell is on record acknowledging that illegal immigrants have done work on his house. He even stated that the illegals are "What's keeping this country's lifeblood moving forward"! and "They are doing things we need done in this country", so he believes we should give them a path towards legal status.

In that same interview, Powell also stated "...Let's attack him on policy, not nonsense", when asked about critics of Obama! His policies are NONSENSE!

h/t What Makes Us Right via Left Coast Resistance

Some are saying if you give them legal status, they will then quit doing the work and start draining our welfare system. TRUE.

And some are also saying that if some of the lazy social welfare recipients would get off of their asses, the work that "needs to be done" would get completed, our welfare problem would go away and their would not be a reason for these illegals to enter the country! (their words not mine) I say - MAYBE. I say "maybe" because though I'm not on welfare, I am currently unemployed and I have been searching for work and I am willing to work, but no one - STILL - aren't hiring. So tell me what's up with that? Plus if people would quit acting dumb, drinking so much and having multiple babies by dead beat men, maybe they wouldn't need to be lazy and be on welfare. Also in this "Generation Me" bullcrap, people are so selfish and lazy as it is, welfare will be around for a few more generations. Thought of that one?

Illegals already get government assistance and free health care because when they cross the border and have their anchor babies here in America, they get to stay no matter what and the normal citizens pick up the tab. Democrats what Amnesty because it means more votes for them since they pander to "the little people" and they count on minority votes to get elected, even though they really don't care about minorities. A la why I have dubbed them "The Party Of Hate" (term is pending trademark).

But on a side note about welfare, my cousin, her friend had a child within the last year and since she wasn't getting any assistance from her "donor", she went on welfare and was on the "welfare to work" program. She told me that the welfare worker actually told her friend and encouraged her to stay on welfare because she would be better off in the long run than working. How messed up is that? How can we try to fix or solve the welfare problem, if the people who work for the system are encouraging people to stay on than trying to get off it?
