I don't need to pontificate or prove to anyone that the MSM in this country is dedicated to carrying the water for Obama. So, it is no surprise that the press is ignoring Obama's Big Fail today in his press conference on the oil spill. Oh, it's written in all the stories, but no one in the press is daring to put their sleazy, keyboard stunted finger on it, so I'll do it for them.
Today's press conference was about displaying two things: 1. Obama cares about the spill and 2. Obama is intimately committed to the operations to resolve the situation. In fact Obama boasted that:
"My job right now is just to make sure everybody in the Gulf understands: This is what I wake up to in the morning, and this is what I go to bed at night thinking about. The spill."
Yet when pressed about the resignation of Director Elizabeth Birnbaum of Minerals Management Services, Obama said:
"I found out about her resignation today. I don't know the circumstances under which this occurred"
The statement sounds pretty disconnected by itself, but when you factor in what is rumored through White House aides, the picture becomes even more damning:
A senior administration official said that Salazar had informed the president Wednesday night that he had decided to replace Birnbaum at MMS, after Obama told the interior secretary to make sure that every person under him was capable of doing the job he had. However, Obama was not aware of how the replacement was carried out Thursday morning, said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity to describe private conversations.
It certainly doesn't sound like Obama is paying attention to the management of one of the country's "worst catastrophes" of its kind, does it? A senior official is removed and he has no details? That's either a Big Fail or a Big Lie! In both cases the press should have been on it, because Lord knows he'll never give anyone the opportunity to ask him a question on it until next summer.
Excerpts above were taken from AP. Feel free to subject yourself to the mushy Obama love factory known as the NY Times, but at your own risk.
